I believe the role of counseling is to facilitate movement towards optimal health. I bring a unique blend of life history, education, counseling approaches and professional experience to facilitate growth and healing with a variety of clients.
I have worked in the fields of addiction prevention and treatment, youth empowerment, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGBTQ) health, trauma, anger management, HIV/AIDS and school based crisis services for the last 25+ years after earning my Master of Arts degree from John F. Kennedy University in both Clinical Psychology and Sport Psychology. I am licensed as both a Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in both California and most recently as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Oregon.
These experiences have developed my ability to work successfully with adults and teens facing a variety of life challenges and struggles.
